Annette Jane Killebrew
1934 - 2024
"To forget one's ancestors is to be a brook without a source, a tree without a root." – Chinese Proverb
Annette Jane Killebrew, age 90 of Rogersville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, and was reunited with her family who have gone on before her, on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. Annette was born on August 22, 1934, in Royal Oak, MI to Alphonse Joseph LaFlamme and Alma Archambeau LaFlamme. On April 14, 1956, Annette married the love of her life, James Hugh Killebrew, and after 64 years of a beautiful marriage he preceded her in death in 2020.
Annette loved quilting and knitting. She was her family’s historian, as she devoted much of her time to researching her family’s genealogy. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her family, and the love that she had for her family was immeasurable.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Marie Killebrew; her loving husband, James Hugh Killebrew; three sisters, Charlene LaFlamme, Patricia Kitson, and Jeanne LaFlamme; one brother, Maurice LaFlamme; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth LaFlamme, and Theresa LaFlamme; and one daughter-in-law, Melissa Killebrew. Those left to cherish her memory are her five sons, Jim Killebrew and wife Kathy, Kevin Killebrew and wife Melissa, Myron Killebrew and wife Libby, Dennis Killebrew, and Brian Killebrew; two daughters, Karen Killebrew, and Sharon Cowan and husband Charles; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, and other family members.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Carter Trent Funeral Home Church Hill. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 pm with Deacon Frank Fischer officiating. A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Mountain Home National Cemetery in Johnson City. Annette’s family and friends will be serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 pm.
