Joe B Hale
March 20th, 1938 - November 22nd, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joe Bill Hale, who departed this world on November 22, 2024, at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky. Born on March 20, 1938, in Jellico, Tennessee, Joe was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose lifetime of dedication to family and community leaves a lasting legacy.
Joe is remembered as a devoted family man, who cherished time spent with his daughter, Sandra (Sandy) Lippert, son-in-law Preston, and his three grandchildren: Tiffany Qualls (Chris), Jacob Lippert (Nikki), and Maxton Lippert (Whitney). His joy extended to the lives of his great-grandchildren, Callie Jo Qualls, Ava Qualls, and Coleman Lippert, who were the light of his life. His love and warmth also touched the hearts of numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife of almost 56 years, Patricia Elaine (Ward) Hale, and his parents, Clarence Hale and Bonnie (Roberts) Moore. Their reunion in the afterlife brings comfort to those who hold them dear in memory.
Throughout his life, Joe found fulfillment in simple pleasures. An avid fisherman, he often found peace by the water’s edge. His passion for UK basketball fueled many spirited discussions, and he could happily lose himself for hours watching classic westerns. Joe also enjoyed working in his garden and in his yard. However, his greatest love was reserved for his family, who he treasured above all.
Professionally, Joe was a hardworking and dedicated factory worker for Kuhlman Electric in Versailles, where he retired after many years of diligent service. Before working at Kuhlman Electric, Joe worked at the Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Kentucky, where he taxied and fueled many airplanes. Joe’s favorite part of working at the airport was being asked to take an airplane ride as the pilot’s “co-pilot.” His commitment to his work mirrored the steadfastness he displayed in all aspects of his life.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on November 30, 2024, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. A funeral service to honor Joe's life will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Clark Legacy Center with Pastor Gary Ward officiating, located at 3000 Versailles Road, Frankfort, Kentucky. He will be laid to rest at Rose Crest Cemetery in Versailles, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Preston Lippert, Jacob Lippert, Maxton Lippert, Christopher Qualls, Barry Morgenroth and Mark Ward. Honorary pallbearer will be Jon Ward.
Joe Bill Hale will be dearly missed, remembered always as a pillar of strength and love. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will carry his spirit forward with them.
