Rachel Ann Woods

Rachel Ann Woods, 82, of St. Petersburg, Florida, went to be with the Lord on November 19, 2024.  She was born Rachel Ann Sinclair on August 20, 1942, to Reverend Johnie E. and Mattie L. Sinclair. She is preceded in death by her father, mother, stepmother, 5 siblings and her son, Michael D. Woods. 

She met the love of her life, Woody, at Sunday dinner at the home of her future in-laws.  Rachel and Woody have been married for 64 years as of June 18, 2024.  Rachel spent much of her life as a homemaker, raising her 5 children, spoiling her 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  She was raised in the Baptist church where she learned to play the piano by ear and loved to play and sing old church hymns.   She was an accomplished painter and artist.  Rachel also led an active social life with a close-knit group of friends that she loved dearly. 

Rachel is survived by her husband, Horace (Woody) A. Woods, by her children; Vickie (Brian) Anthony-Lewis, Valerie (Philip) Woods-Roe, Michele Woods, Robyn (Frank) England and Kimberly Woods (daughter-in-law). Her grandchildren, Blake Anthony, Amanda (Kris) Kovar, Bryant (Shali) Anthony, Krista (Bob) Avila, Sean (MaryMargaret) Nolin, Phillip (Megan) Woods, Paige (Shane) Roe, Steven Rosario-Woods, Payton Roe, Bayleigh Anthony and Amber Roe.  Her great-grandchildren; Annabelle and Lani Rae Hart-Roe, Jaxon and Jamison Dunne, Madison and Owen Kovar, Mila Anthony, Aiden Keithley, Luca Avila, LaineyGrace Nolin, Bentley Hughes-Roe, Michael Ramos and Evan Roe. 

Services will be held at Anderson McQueen Funeral home at 2201 Dr M.L.K. Jr St N

St. Petersburg, FL 33704, on Sunday, December 1st.  The family will be holding a visitation for family and friends from 11 am to 12 pm.  The service will follow from 12 pm to 1 pm and following the service, we will proceed to Sunnyside Cemetery to lay Rachel to rest.  A reception will follow at Anderson McQueen Funeral home from 2:15 to 4:15.   To view the service live on December 1st, please follow this link: https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/f24118020765776
