Hortencia H. Garcia
September 30th, 1932 - November 15th, 2024
Our beautiful mother Hortencia (Tencha) Garica, 92, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Mom was born September 30, 1932 in Hualahuises, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Manuel and Evangelina Hernandez. In 1955, she married Juan R. Garcia, until our father was called to heaven in March 2000.
Mom was an amazing woman always by our father’s side. They migrated from Texas to Idaho for several years, finally settling in Wilder, Idaho and then making Caldwell their final home.
Mom worked at J.R. Simplot Company for 22 years following an injury that forced her to retire.
She loved gardening, especially her flowers. She liked short trips, playing Bingo at the senior center and loved attending her grandchildren’s parties.
She was a member at Our Lady of the Valley.
She is survived by eight children, marcella Garcia Cardona, Juan (Dora) Garcia, Leti (Danny) Garcia, Robert (Maria) Garcia, Joe “Beebe” Garcia, Marta (Abdon) Garcia, Belinda Hernandez, David (Silvia) Garcia; 25 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Juan R. Garcia, a daughter Maria Alma Garcia and her grandson Abel Saenz.
