Richard "Ric" William Myroth
November 29th, 1951 - November 15th, 2024
Richard “Ric” Myroth, a devoted friend and valued member of his community, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024, at the age of 72. He was born on November 29, 1951, in Rochelle, Illinois, to William Myroth and Julie (Burr) Myroth. Ric later graduated from Kishwaukee College in 1971 and went on to study at Northern Illinois University. He would continue to support the NIU Huskies for the rest of his life. Ric ultimately moved to Denver, Colorado, his forever home where he brightened the lives of all who knew him.
Ric's professional life was marked by dedication and loyalty. He worked for many years with the Colorado Rockies, where his deep love of baseball and the Rockies organization made him a familiar face at Coors Field. Ric was an avid supporter of the team and could always be found cheering from the stands or sharing his passion for the game with others. Later, he transitioned to a role with King Soopers, where he earned the respect and affection of his coworkers and customers alike. He often referred to his fellow coworkers as his family and refused to leave King Soopers even after retirement age because of his great love for them.
Beyond his work, Ric had a deep love for the arts, particularly Broadway musicals. He was a regular at Denver’s theater productions, where he reveled in the magic of live performances. Ric had a vast knowledge of musical theater and enjoyed introducing friends and family to the joy of the stage, always eager to discuss his favorite shows and songs.
Ric's heart was equally devoted to his loyal dog, Xena, who was by his side through thick and thin. His bond with Xena was a testament to the love and care he shared with everyone in his life, and she brought him much comfort and joy, especially in his later years.
Ric is survived by his sisters, Marcia Lage and Jodi Vandeberg, his beloved nieces and nephews, his cherished dog Xena, and his many friends who considered him family. He was preceded in death by his partner and friend of many years, David Beckwith, as well as his parents William and Julie Myroth, and his sister Linda Schoessow. A memorial service will be held at Aspen Mortuary in Arvada on December 6th at 2 PM to honor Ric’s life, his many contributions to his community, and the joy he brought to so many.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Broadway Cares, a cause dear to Ric’s heart. His legacy of kindness, humor, and generosity towards others will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
