Judith "Judy" Bartlett
October 19th, 1944 - November 19th, 2024
Judith "Judy" Bartlett, 80, of St. Petersburg, passed away on November 19th, 2024. She was born in Jefferson City, Missouri on October 19, 1944. Judy grew up in Vienna, Missouri, and graduated from Maries R1 High School. She attended the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg and later worked at Wagner Electric in St. Louis. After marrying and starting a family, she moved back to Vienna, where she owned a floral business, well known in the community for her beautiful flower arrangements. In 1985, Judy and her family relocated to St. Petersburg, Florida, to escape the cold Missouri winters. From 1986 to 2001, she worked as the Office Manager and Executive Assistant to the High School Principal at Northside Christian School, where her children also attended. After leaving the school, she worked full-time in Human Resources at Macy's until her retirement in 2014. Judy was a member of First Baptist Church St. Petersburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Willard and Virgie Malinda Terry. She is survived by her daughter Christy Adams, son-in-law Chris Adams, son Brad Bartlett, and granddaughter Samantha Adams, all of St. Petersburg, FL, and siblings Kay Woody of Vienna, Missouri, Ann Terry of Columbia, Missouri, Melody Robertson of New Bloomfield, Missouri, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Judy cherished her time with family and friends. Her love for sewing was evident in the beautiful quilts and crafts she meticulously created. A perfectionist at heart, she spent countless hours making gifts and participating in craft fairs. As a member of two quilt guilds, she enjoyed the camaraderie of others who shared her passion. Judy was also a devoted "professional grandma," picking up her granddaughter Samantha from school each day and helping her with homework.
Her dedication extended to her community, where she volunteered and served as President of the board at the Las Villas, Mainlands Unit 7 Community for many years. She loved music and traveling. She was genuine, kind, and an amazing listener. She loved her family beyond measure. Judy was beloved by all who had the blessing of knowing her and will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, December 7th at First Baptist Church St. Petersburg. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. followed by the service beginning at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers we invite anyone who wishes to show their support by sharing a favorite memory and by giving to The American Cancer Society in her honor.
