Kenneth "Ken" A. Noeltner
December 5th, 1927 - November 22nd, 2024
Kenneth “Ken” Noeltner, 96, of Noeltner Road, Town of Glen, NY, passed away peacefully at River Ridge Living Center on November 22, 2024, with his daughters by his side.
Kenneth was born on December 5, 1927, to the late Earl and Hettie Noeltner. He was a lifelong area resident. Upon graduating from Fultonville High School, Kenneth chose to stay and work on the family farm with his father and continued on after his father’s passing. His passion for farming was instilled in him and he was always interested in how the crops were growing and being harvested, even after his retirement from farming. After farming, Kenneth worked as a salesman for Cen-Pe-Co Oils and Cargill Seeds. Upon both he and his wife’s retirement, they enjoyed RV traveling and camping, visiting several states, including two trips to Alaska.
Kenneth was very active in the community. He was an active lifelong member of the former Fort Hunter United Methodist Church and the Fonda Fultonville United Methodist Church. The community remembers Kenneth for his endless hours of service with the Fonda Fultonville Volunteer Ambulance Corps (FFAVAC) as a driver. Kenneth and his wife responded to emergencies for thirty-four years until the dissolvement of the ambulance corps in 2002. Kenneth then continued to volunteer for the American Red Cross as part of the National Red Cross Disaster Team, which included helping at ground zero.
Kenneth was united in marriage to Edith (Minch) Noeltner on June 28, 1952. They enjoyed over 58 years together until her passing in May 2011. Kenneth is survived by his three daughters, Linda (Donald) Bare of Glen, Betty (George) Whitney of the Town of Providence and Susan (Jack) Summerfield of Glen; four grandchildren, Bobbi Jo (Jason) Holmes, Bryan Noeltner, Ryan Summerfield (Becky McGraw) and Matthew (Kara) Whitney; two great grandsons, Evan Holmes and Colton Summerfield. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Noeltner; brother-in-law, Robert (Dorothy) Minch and sister-in-law, Betty Hitchcock and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, Edith, Kenneth was predeceased by his son, Robert Noeltner and his sister, Eleanor Noeltner.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside memorial service that will take place on Tuesday, June 17th at 11 am at the Pine Grove Cemetery Mohawk Drive, Tribes Hill, NY with the Pastor Albert Wilson presiding.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY 12072.
