Robert Lawrence Richardson

April 10, 1938 ~ November 23, 2024

It is with sadness we share with family and friends the passing of our beloved father, Robert Lawrence Richardson, who went home to be with the Lord, on November 23, 2024, in Aurora, CO. He was the first born of 5 children to Nathan Cornelius and Beulah Richardson in Monticello, NC. 

He earned his education in the Sedalia Public School in Sedalia, NC. In October 1956 he entered into the United States Air Force, and served his country as Airman First Class, receiving the Good Conduct Medal, and his honorable discharge in June, 1961. In his life career, Bob worked and served in many capacities. He worked for JCPenney in their warehouse for over 26+ years, and in the Aurora Police Academy for over 10 years. In life itself, Bob enjoyed music, sports, bowling, billiards and table tennis. He had a collection of over 600 baseball caps and CDs. One of the many things he learned in the Military was to spit-shine shoes. He continued with this hobby and loved to shine his family members’ shoes occasionally. As an avid writer and reader, he shared his thoughts in written notes with family and friends. He once said, “If I could write a book, it would be titled,” The Good, Bad and Ugly." An excerpt from his book, amongst other things, states, “Everybody is going to heaven, but only a few will enter the Kingdom of Heaven on Judgment Day." 

 He is preceded in death by both parents, Nathan Cornelius and Beulah Richardson; Brother Nathan Cornelius Richardson Jr.; Sister Naomi Richardson. Those who he is survived by and who will cherish his loving memory, is his special significant person, Marjorie Cotton; his children, Marvin Lee Richardson (Thuli), Felicia Dianne Richardson (Tim); Grandchildren, Aaron, Sean and Brianne Richardson; Sisters, Barbara McCain and Carolyn Byrd; A host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Receiving Family and a Visitation will be Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 10:00am; the Celebration of Life Service at 11:00am at Romero Funeral Home ~ Chapel of Repose, 15150 E Iliff Ave, Aurora, CO. Final Services and Burial will be in Reidsville, NC, on December 9, 2024
