Lester Blum
June 24th, 1926 - November 25th, 2024
Lester Blum, a 98 year old Bronx NY native died peacefully in Seminole Florida on November 25th 2024. He was a WWII Navy veteran who enlisted in the Navy at 17 and met his future wife of 78 years, Leah, through the mail during the war. They married 9 months after his return and raised their two children Nancy Ann and Matthew Seth on Long Island.
Lester was an avid bowler and president of the Oceanside League. He managed the US Electric Wholesale Company near Wall Street for over 35 years as a member of the IBEW. Then retired to St. Petersburg Florida where he enjoyed golf and his friends at the Dolphin Cay community.
He will be missed by his son in law, Earl Horton, daughter in law, Katie Walsh, grandchildren Sarah and Harrison Horton, step grandchildren Meghan Watson and Luke Walsh and great grandchildren Curren, Finley, Isabella and Lucia. All his family could depend on his support and sage counsel through tough times, his humor in good times and his warm loving personality always.
