It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Roy Bragg, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, who gracefully departed from this world on November 17, 2024, in Olympia, Washington. Born on July 28, 1933, in the scenic town of Heywood, California, Roy's life journey saw him touching countless lives and leaving an indelible mark of kindness and authenticity wherever he went.

Roy's early years were marked by his service to his country as a proud member of the United States Army. He was stationed in Seattle, Washington, during the conclusion of the Korean War from 1953 until 1957. His time in service forged in him a deep sense of loyalty and camaraderie, qualities that he carried throughout his life.

After his military career, Roy found his professional calling as a member of the Glazers and Glassworkers Union. His craftsmanship shone through his work at Burien Auto Glass, where he dedicated himself until he embraced retirement. His ties to his profession and colleagues remained strong, underscored by his membership in the Brinnon Community Church—a place that reflected his steadfast faith and commitment to community.

Roy's family was his greatest pride and joy. He leaves behind a loving legacy through his daughters, Lisa and her husband Andy Yager, and Melanie and her husband Mike Shay. His grandchildren, Melissa Yagar-Webber, married to Reece Webber, Ryan Yager, and Joseph Shay, will miss his warm stories and generous heart.

He now reunites with his beloved wife, Barbara Green, who predeceased him in 2012. Their love story, which spanned decades, culminates in their eternal reunion.

A larger-than-life personality, Roy was a charmer known for his storytelling prowess and engaging conversations. He was a generous spirit, loyal to friends and family alike. His interests revealed a man of diverse talents and passions—a true outdoorsman and craftsman. Whether as a bow hunter, fisherman, or pool shark, Roy found joy in the world around him. His love for classic cars, sports, and creating beauty through art and gardening enriched his life and those around him.

A service celebrating Roy's life will be held at The Axiom Church on Saturday, November 30, 2024, located at 611 E. 82nd St., Tacoma, Washington, 98404. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects, reflect on cherished memories, and honor the legacy of a truly remarkable man.

In remembering Roy Bragg, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. May his stories and spirit continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
