Donald Anthony Peterson
January 24th, 1934 - November 24th, 2024
Donald A. Peterson passed on to the loving care of Jesus on November 24, 2024 at the age of 90. He was born on January 24, 1934, in Queens Village, New York. Don served two years in the Army during the Korean War. Upon his discharge, he entered the New York City Fire Dept. where he served 31 years before retiring with the rank of Battalion Chief. In 1988, Don retired and relocated to Indialantic, Florida. He became a parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Church where it was his great honor to serve as Coordinator for Eucharistic Adoration and as a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound. Don was also a proud member of the Brevard chapter of the NYC Retired Firefighters Association since his retirement.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Catherine, and their 7 children: Catherine (Paul), Julianne (John), Robert (Susan), Kenneth, James (Susan), Thomas (Lila) and MaryEllen. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 10:30 – 11:00 AM at Holy Name of Jesus church, Indialantic, Florida, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.
