June Begley Brickey Vaughn, 92, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 25, 2024. She was born in Ft. Blackmore, VA to the late E.C. Begley Sr. and Nannie Fraysier Begley. June graduated from Dungannon High School in 1951. She retired from J.P. Stevens after 41 years of service. She was a devoted member of the Grace Christian Church in Kingsport and an active member of the Dorcas Circle Ladies Group. June was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  

 

She was preceded in death by her first husband George G. Brickey Jr.; second husband, Hack Vaughn; step-son, David Vaughn; brothers, Joe and wife Joann, Fred, and Bill Begley; sisters, Marie Anderson and Wilma Begley; brother-in-law, Donnie Brickey. 

 

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Darnell and husband Wayne; son, Gary Brickey; step-son, Terry Vaughn and wife Diane; grandchildren, Jennie Flanary and husband Andre, Brittany Fields and husband Nathan, MaKaylah Garner and husband Cole; step-grandchildren, Shane Vaughn and wife Lulu, and Leslie Brooks and husband Thomas; great-grandchildren, Kilian, Luke, Sebastian, Brylee, Oliver, Sophia, Ella, and Everett (on the way);  sisters-in-law, Sylvia Begley, Minnie Begley, Sona Bingham, and Kathleen Brewer; several special nieces and nephews who she loved dearly; along with a host of extended family and friends.  

 

The family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm on Friday, November 29, 2024 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Dr. Ed Clevinger officiating.  

 

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30pm at Hamlett Dobson Memory Gardens in Blountville. Pallbearers will be Wayne, Nathan, Andre, Cole, Luke, and Kilian. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive no later than 2:20pm.  

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Christian Church at 1713 E. Sevier Ave, Kingsport, TN 37664.
