Harvey Louis Bustichi, 89, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 15, 2024. He was born on October 15, 1935 to Ida and Armando Bustichi. Harvey was a native of San Francisco, and throughout his life lived in San Francisco and Scotts Valley. In 1957, Harvey married Irene Gregori. Together, they started a family in San Francisco raising 3 children. In 1970, Harvey moved with his family to Scotts Valley. Harvey started an insurance business in South San Francisco, and worked for Farmers Insurance for 44 years.
Harvey was very dedicated to his community. He was a Lions Club member for over 50 years. He served as a Director for the Scotts Valley Fire District, volunteered with the Scotts Valley Police Department, served as a board member of the Scotts Valley Senior Center, and volunteered with St. Vincent De Paul, and was a member of the Santa Cruz Moose Lodge. He was an active member of San Agustin Catholic Church. Harvey enjoyed gardening and kept an abundant vegetable garden. He also enjoyed motorhome adventures with his family.
Harvey is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Irene Bustichi. He is also survived by his sons David (Linda) Bustichi and Donald Bustichi; daughter Lisa Bustichi; grandson Daniel (Courtney) Bustichi, grandaughter Alyssa Bustichi; grandson Jeff Ekwall; 7 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, 3 nieces, and 3 nephews; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
Harvey is preceded in death by his parents Ida and Armando Bustichi; his brother and sister in law Gene and Allene Bustichi; sister Millie Bustichi; and granddaughter Michelle Ekwall.
The Bustichi Family would like to sincerely thank Visiting Angels and Hospice of Santa Cruz County for their support and care.
A Vigil Service will be held at San Agustin Church, 257 Glenwood Drive, Scotts Valley, CA 95066 on Thursday, November 21 at 5:30pm and the Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, November 22 at 10:00am, at San Agustin Church.
A Committal Service will follow at Santa Cruz Memorial Park, 1927 Ocean Street, Santa Cruz.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lions Eye Foundation of California-Nevada, 711 Van Ness, Suite 250, San Francisco, CA 94102.
