Larry Verl Keith
November 3rd, 1951 - November 26th, 2024
Larry Verl Keith, age 73, of Gate City, Virginia entered into rest on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Nova Health and Rehab in Weber City, Virginia, after his fight with Dementia. Larry was born on November 3, 1951 in Kingsport, TN and graduated from Twin Springs High School in 1970. After high school, he graduated from Berea College with a major in Industrial Arts. While at Berea, he met the love of his life, and he and Debbie lived happily together until her death in 2009. He was a skilled craftsman and motivated businessman. He established an independent insurance agency in 1987 that still serves the local community. From fine furniture to ¨not so¨ fine wine, he was constantly working with his hands to create. Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife and best friend, Debbie Keith, his parents Baker and Lillian Keith of Nickelsville, VA, and 6 sisters, Faye Donnelson, Nancy Smythers, Peggy Farmer, Joan Dorton, Frieda Elam, and Rhea Whetsel.
He is survived by 2 sons and daughters in law, Adam and Mary Beth Keith, and David and Jessica Keith, all of Gate City, VA; four grandchildren, Blake Keith, Blue Keith, Baker Keith, and Ryan Keith; a twin brother, Gary and Teresa Keith of Piney Flats, TN; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 pm on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Steve Collins and Mary Beth Keith officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 12 pm on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Holston View Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:50 am.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Virginia Moore, Sandy Sproles, Darla Miller, Debbie Spencer, Bobbie Flanary, and Nova Health and Rehab for their loving care.
