In Loving Memory

Nancy Ann Turner McKeown Baxter of Lexington, South Carolina, affectionately known to her family as Nan, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 24, 2024. She was 81 years old. She was born in Greenville, South Carolina on April 12, 1943, to George Mitchell Turner II and Joyce Lee Turner. She graduated from Carolina High School in Greenville and attended Winthrop College in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her youngest brother David Gray Turner, her first husband Arthur Hazel McKeown, Jr., and her husband James Bonner Baxter, Jr.

 

She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Lee McKeown Williams and husband Bert; her stepchildren, JoAn Baxter Rolland and husband Sam, J B (Bo) Baxter III and wife Rose, Hugh Taylor Baxter and wife Michelle, her grandson Devin Alexander Weick, her brothers in law Ronnie McKeown and wife Claudette, Dean Mckeown and wife Janice and her brother George Mitchell Turner III and wife Nancy. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm Sunday December 8, 2024, at the Gates to Zion Ministries located in the Glenforest School, 1041 Harbor Drive, West Columbia, South Carolina 29169. Officiating will be the Rev. Craig O'dell and Rev. George Mitchell Turner. Visitation for family and friends will be at the church beginning at 3:00 pm.

 

Honorary pallbearers are Devin Weick, Ronnie McKeown, Dean McKeown, Sam Rolland, Bert Williams, and David Rosalis.

 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Gates to Zion Ministries.

 

Arrangements are being handled by Thompson Funeral Home in Lexington, South Carolina.
