Elizabeth Lord Foskey, age 83, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024, in Macon, GA. Born on July 30, 1941, in Sandersville, GA, Elizabeth lived a life marked by devotion to her family and her community. A celebration of her life will be held in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Joe Crosby officiating. A visitation will be at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home one hour prior to the service, between 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Burial will immediately follow at Parkway Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.  

 

With an education in civil service management, Elizabeth dedicated her career as a budget specialist at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, GA. Her commitment and diligence earned her respect and admiration from her colleagues. Throughout her life, Elizabeth was known for her kindness and her deep love for her family, providing wisdom and support to her extensive family network. Elizabeth's gentle and nurturing spirit was reflected in her extraordinary culinary skills; she was celebrated for being a great southern cook. She was able to convey her love and warmth through every dish she prepared, often bringing joy to those who sat around her table. Her commitment to her family was profound, and she found immense joy in engaging with her loved ones, always displaying generosity and care. A woman of many interests, Elizabeth embraced life with a zest for creativity.

 

From a young age, she developed an affinity for sewing and various crafts, spending countless hours perfecting her skills and sharing her creations. She was not only adept with a needle but also had a unique talent for a wide array of crafts, making her a cherished source of handmade gifts and decorations that adorned her home and those of her friends and family. Her resourcefulness and artistry extended beyond the material; it spoke to her ability to find magic in the everyday and joy in simple pleasures.

 

Beyond her talents, Elizabeth was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and could often be found cheering passionately for her team. Television brought her additional joy, as evident in her love for watching "NCIS." and The Resident.  Another of her beloved past times was listening to the timeless melodies of Conway Twitty, a favorite musician whose songs would often drift through her home. Equally important was her deep faith, nurtured through regular scripture reading, which provided her with sustenance and guidance throughout her life.

 

The beloved wife of the late Gaston Foskey, to whom she was married for nearly 57 years, Elizabeth was a warm and kind soul, cherished for her nurturing spirit. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Cindy Bowen, and son-in-law Bub, her treasured grandchildren Cody (April) Durden and Courtney Durden (Blake Pritchett), and her three great-grandchildren Caysen, Caegen, and Carsyn Gilley. Elizabeth was also a dear sister to Evelyn Story, Barbara Jones with husband Rick, Angela Raines, Phyllis Lewis, Dale Haywood with husband Ricky, and sister in law, Rachel Lord and Marilyn McBride. In addition, she is also survived by her long time best friend, Etta Lanier.  Along side her family, Elizabeth had two beloved fur babies , Angel and Freckles, as well as her grandpup, Sadie.  

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Levin Lord and Edith Johnson Lord, her beloved spouse Gaston, her brothers Royce L. Lord and Ronnie Lord, and brother in law, Charles Story, John Raines, and Tommy McBride.

 

Elizabeth's legacy is one of love, kindness, and family devotion; she will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her. Elizabeth will forever be remembered in the hearts of her loved ones and the close-knit circle of friends she warmly embraced.
