Alice Marie Lake

Alice Marie (Cook) Lake, 76, of Lafayette, NY passed away peacefully with her daughter beside her on November 26, 2024.

Alice was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.  More recently, she became a great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Angela (James) Maxsween of LaFayette, NY, her son, Michael (Carrie) Lake of Phoenix, AZ, 4 grandchildren, Amanda Maxsween, of Venice, FL, Jeremy and William Lake, of Tully, NY, Mary Elizabeth Lake, of Phoenix AZ, great grandson Axel James Poppe of Venice, FL, sister, Sandra Cook of Cortland, NY and Avis Warner, of Cincinnatus, NY. Alice was predeceased by her granddaughter, Jamie Maxsween, of Venice, FL, and parents Donald and Beulah Cook of East Freetown, NY.

Alice worked hard to support her family up until her retirement in 2009.  Once retired, she was able to spend her time doing the things she enjoyed most which included road trips with family and friends, reading, knitting, and completing complex puzzles.  She enjoyed trips to the beach in New Jersey, Maryland, and Florida.  Other times, she was happy to simply watch the birds at the feeders in her backyard. Alice will be sorely missed but her great spirit will remain with us in our memories and hearts.

Friends and family can call Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 1:00 pm, followed by a service at 2:00 pm at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 2584 Field Lane, LaFayette, NY 13084.
