Lloyd Conder
April 4th, 1938 - November 17th, 2024
Lloyd Earl Conder was born April 4th, 1938, to Albert and Clara Conder in American Fork, Utah. He graduated from American Fork High School in 1956 and immediately decided to join the Air Force where he was a flight technician.
After the service he met his first wife Barbara Cullen Arnoldas who had two young children, Nerine and Vincent whom he loved as his own and gave them his last name. In 1962, Lloyd and Barbara had a child of their own, David. Lloyd and Barbara’s marriage ended 12 years later, and he decided to move to Eureka, a small town in Utah.
In Eureka, Lloyd met his sweetheart Grace who had 5 grown children, Valerie, Leisa, Laura, Michelle and Bruce. The two of them were married on the spookiest day of year, October 31st, 1981 in Elko, Nevada.
He continued his career in the government with the Tooele Army Depot where he specialized in printing presses. This specialty deployed him to Germany in 1987 where he and Grace resided for 5 years. Lloyd and Grace moved around a bit, but eventually they found their way back to Eureka.
Lloyd never could sit still and once he was retired, he became the Mayor of Eureka for two terms. He was a proud Past Exalted Ruler of the local Elks Lodge and President of the local American Legion. He loved to fish and even drove a school bus to stay busy. But his favorite thing to do was drive the Bronco out into the Eureka desert with his grandchildren and go geocaching. Lloyd and Grace loved their road trips and could even be found as camp hosts in American Fork Canyon.
In their later years, Lloyd and Grace moved to Helena, Montana to be close to Grace’s children where they had three cats and plenty of grape tomatoes growing on the patio.
Early 2024 Lloyd and Grace moved to Mesa, Arizona where they were close to Lloyd’s son David and his family. He passed peacefully at home on November 17th, 2024. He is preceded in death by his son, Vincent, great granddaughter Starlin and all 3 siblings, Glen, Merlin and Guy.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Conder, daughter Nerine Merryweather (Jim), son David Conder (Jill), 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 4 stepchildren, 10 shared grandchildren, 19 shared great grandchildren and 2 shared great-great grandchildren.
