Mary Louise Regina (Mary Lou) maiden name Sedoris, formerly Ammon was 73 when she passed on 11-26-24.  

 

She was born on 11-3-51 in Butler, PA.  She moved to Florida just after graduating to pursue her dream of teaching.  She lived in Pinellas County since 1975.  The majority of the time she lived in St. Petersburg, but she also lived in Indian Rocks Beach for 5 years.  She lived in St. Petersburg when she passed. 

 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Sedoris (Ritzert); father, Richard Sedoris; and husband, Richard Ammon.  

 

She is survived by her son, Charles (Jessica Allison); daughter, Catherine (James Wilson); grandchildren, Sienna, Grandyn, Finnian, and Ella; sisters, Diane and Debbie; and brother, Richard. 

 

 She was artistic and enjoyed painting and creating stained glass.  She traveled the world and always looked forward to planning her next trip.  She was a teacher in Florida in Florida for 38 years until her retirement. She taught in Manatee County to begin her career and followed in Pinellas at Lynch and Sawgrass Elementary.  She taught every grade Kindergarten through 3rd.  She was also a 30-year Veteran of the US Coast Guard Reserves.  She received her bachelor's degree in teaching from Slippery Rock University in 1972.  

 

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Pinellas Education Foundation. 

 

A Celebration of Life for Mary Lou Regina will be held on Saturday, January 18th at War Veterans Memorial Park (9600 Bay Pines Blvd.) in St. Petersburg, FL. The celebration will be held from 1 to 3 PM at shelter 5 in the back of the park on the water. Please come to memorialize her amazing life and share stories about her.
