Leland Edwin Rebitzke
January 22nd, 1932 - November 25th, 2024
Leland Edwin Rebitzke was born in Oregon City, Oregon to parents Edwin and Cecelia. He was raised in Gales Creek. He met Carleen Lee in 1951 in a blackcap field. They married July 12, 1952 in the Aloha Baptist Church. After getting out of the Army, he worked for the Stimpson Mill, then drove logging trucks for the next 10 years. In 1962, he started working for Hillsboro Garbage Disposal where he drove truck for 30 years until he retired in 1992.
They became snowbirds, along with his brother and wife and Carleen's brother and wife. They traveled in their motorhome for the next 20 years, crossing across the U.S. from East to West and North to South. They resided in their home in Hillsboro for the last 10 years enjoying many memories with family, which includes sons Russell and Gary Rebitzke, daughters Pamela Castellano and Cheryl Johnson (deceased), 15 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
On November 25, 2024, at the time of his passing, his wife of 72 years was by his side. He was also surrounded by a packed room of loved ones. The nurse commented she had never seen so many loved ones and he must have been a very special man.
