Obituary for Robert "Bobby" Leyba August 2, 1978 – November 26, 2024

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Robert "Bobby" Leyba on November 26, 2024, at the age of 46. A devoted father, cherished son, loyal brother, and steadfast friend, Bobby’s life was a testament to love, service, and faith.

Born on August 2, 1978, Bobby grew up in Littleton, Colorado, and graduated from Chatfield Senior High in 1996. After attending the University of Colorado in Boulder for two years, Bobby answered a higher call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, just like his father. A proud Marine, he lived by the Corps' values of honor, courage, and commitment—Semper Fi. Bobby returned to CU after four years in the military and completed his degree in finance.

Bobby dedicated over 15 years of his professional life to the City and County of Denver, earning the respect of colleagues and the gratitude of the community he served. He was known for his integrity, work ethic, and genuine care for others.

Above all, Bobby's greatest joy in life was being a father to his beloved sons, Marcus and Lucas Leyba. His love for them was boundless, and he took pride in every moment spent with them, teaching them the values of kindness, strength, and compassion.

Bobby found peace in the great outdoors, spending countless hours camping, fishing, and enjoying the natural beauty of Colorado. A die-hard Denver Broncos, Nuggets, and Colorado Rockies fan, Bobby could often be found cheering on his teams with enthusiasm that was contagious to those around him. He was also an avid gardener and took immaculate care of his yard. His hearty laugh could light up an entire room, and his generous spirit left an indelible mark on everyone he met.

Deeply committed to helping others, Bobby embodied what it meant to be a good Samaritan. Each month, he prepared dozens of burritos and distributed them to those in need near his home, reflecting his unwavering compassion and commitment to service. He often carried pairs of new socks in his car and handed them out when he saw people in need on the street corner. A devoted Christian and man of God, Bobby’s faith guided every aspect of his life, inspiring those around him to live with love and purpose.

Bobby is survived by his two sons, Marcus and Lucas Leyba; his mother and father, Grace and Floyd Leyba; his sister, Lisa (Leyba) Om; his niece and nephew, Olivia and Charles Om; and his fur babies, Buster and Penelope. His legacy of kindness, faith, and love will live on through them and all who were fortunate to know him.

The family is grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and prayers for our immensely loved son, father, brother, and friend. We ask that you continue to keep Bobby, his sons, and our family in your prayers.
