Andy of Fruitland, ID age 87 passed away November 22, 2024 in Ontario, OR Andy, aka “Pa” was born October 8, 1937 in Weiser, ID, the second son of Creston (Cress) and Margaret Burke Jackson. He lived on a ranch in the Mann Creek area north of Weiser until 1941 when the family moved to a ranch in the Sand Hollow area near Vale, Oregon, where he attended school. He then resided on a ranch in Bridgeport, OR where he graduated from high school and then attended Oregon Technical Institute in Klamath Falls, OR for 3 years before being drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served for 2 years. After completing military service in 1962. He returned to the ranching business where he and his father literally built a large ranch and farm north of Vale, OR which he operated for over 43 years.

In 1986 he met and married his beloved wife Dawna; who was his soulmate, companion, and very best friend for the rest of his life. Together they built a home, a ranch, traveled to their winter home in AZ, had many fun adventures together, and had a wonderful life!

Andy worked extremely hard running his ranch and farm fields and was truly one of the last real cowboys. He spent most of his life cowboying but also loved the years of tractor pulling, flying his plane, playing wild games of Yahtzee, and classic cars.

After retirement he and Dawna made lasting friendships participating in the annual Cruise Idaho, numerous car shows, and all the long weekends with their car friends.

He enjoyed all the crazy and fun family events and will be sorely missed by his family…especially his wit and one liners.

Andy is survived by his wife Dawna, Fruitland, Idaho; 4 daughters: Tara (Randy) Affholter, Kennewick, WA, Monica (Chuck) Willis, Nampa, ID, Andrea (Doug) Young, Garden Valley, ID, Tami (Nate) Howard, Kuna, ID And sister Margie Jackson, Boise, ID. Eight Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Russell.

Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring.
