Wilfred Michael Valdez
April 17th, 1950 - November 20th, 2024
Wilfred Michael Valdez also known as “Wonks” 74, a long-time resident of El Guache, NM started his journey of life on April 17, 1950 and died a peaceful death on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, where he joined his parents Miguel and Eloisa Valdez, brothers, baby Johnny Valdez and Mike Garcia, sisters baby Minnie Valdez, Mable Garcia, Erlinda Maestas, and Loyola Vigil. Brother-in-laws Jesus Garcia, Maclovio Maestas, and Juan Dominguez.
He is survived by his children Jonathan, Dee Dee, and Sonia. Siblings: LouAnna (Toby) Trujillo, twin brother Rudy (Pam) Valdez, Sandra (Arthur) Pacheco, Earl (Kathy) Valdez, Barbara (Virgil) Vigil, Johnny (Mannie) Valdez, Alvin (Norma) Valdez, Otilio (Chen) Garcia, and Mercy Dominguez. Brother-in-law Delfino Vigil and sister-in-law Linda Garcia.
Wilfred was a happy, high-spirited person with a strong sense of humor. One could always rely on a happy and smiling face when you would meet up with him. He was always full of life.
Wake Service and Rosary will be recited on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez, NM. A Mass will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez, NM, with burial to follow at the San Jose Catholic Cemetery. Celebration of Life will take place immediately after burial at Sacred Heart Parish in Espanola, NM.
A special thank you to his sister LouAnna for her continued and loving support at her mother Eloisa’s request adding to Wilfred’s quality of life. The family sends special thanks and most heartfelt gratitude to friends and family for the loving outpour of visits, phone calls, food, emotional support, and loving prayers.
Honorary Pallbearers are his nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.
