Max Sullivan of Broomfield Colorado, 86, passed away November 23, 2024, after a brief hospitalization at St. Anthony North hospital in Westminster. Max was born August 9, 1938, in Oskaloosa, Iowa to his parents Walter and Ada Sullivan. Max was the youngest of five brothers and one sister.

When he was two years old, Max and his family moved to Stockton, California where he spent most of his childhood. After graduating from Stockton High School in 1956, Max enlisted in the US Air Force as a jet aircraft mechanic and was stationed in the US and Germany. In 1960 after he left the service, he married Betty Self, to whom he was married 44 years until her passing in 2004.

Max found his calling as a field service representative in the agricultural and construction equipment industry and had a lengthy career for several companies until his retirement. He and his family moved to Thornton, Colorado in 1972 and remained in the Denver area until his passing, calling Colorado his home. Max enjoyed fishing, bike riding, watching the Denver Broncos, and later dancing with his close friends in Longmont.

Max was loved by friends and family, and is survived by his sons, Raymond and Craig, and his grandchildren Victoria, Timothy, Maximus and Aubrey. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Alekzander, Sarai, Alivia and soon-arriving Penelope. He also leaves his longtime companion and best friend Karen Jahn. Max was preceded in passing by his daughter Diane and granddaughter Stephanie.

A memorial service will be held for Max on December 14, 2024, 2 PM at Arvada Baptist Church, 8350 Pomona Dr, Arvada, CO 80005. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to leave a donation in Max’s name to the Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention Program https://www.yellowribbon.org.
