Robert “Bob” William Sadler
Robert “Bob” William Sadler, 82, died Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer.
Mr. Sadler was born to Elmer and Jenny Sadler on January 1, 1942, in Davenport, Iowa. Bob graduated from Davenport High School in 1960. He served in the US Army from 1967 to 1969 with the 529th MP Unit stationed in Heidelberg, Germany. He moved to Tucson in 1983 and retired from the Amphitheater School District in 2007 but continued to drive the school bus until May 2023.
He was married on June 28,1969 to Pamela Kopf who proceeded him in death. Bob remarried on October 8, 1993, to Barbara (Seeley/Popp).
Bob volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul for over 17 years where he was able to help hundreds of people and families with unaffordable expenses and emergencies. He was an affectionate soul, a loyal friend, and a true jokester. His legacy will live on through his family, friends and everyone whose life that he touched.
He is survived by his wife Barbara (Seeley/Popp) Sadler, 2 children and 2 stepchildren – Dawn (John) Nelson of Tucson, Todd (Dalia) Sadler of Tucson, Rebecca (Greg) Hunter of Tucson and Amanda Popp of Tucson. Together they share 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Jerry (Diane) Sadler of Davenport, Iowa and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was proceeded in death by his parents and sister Rosie Fox.
There will be a visitation on Friday, December 20, 2024, at St. Odilia Catholic Church from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by the Rosary from 6:30 to 7:00. A funeral service will be held from 7:00 to 8:00.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent De Paul.
