Kellie F Chandler
February 24th, 1960 - December 3rd, 2024
So many are saddened at the passing of Kellie F. Chandler (Farrell), at 64 years old. Kellie passed away peacefully at home, on Tuesday afternoon, December 3, 2024. She was born on February 24, 1960 in St. Paul, Minnesota, to William Howard “Howey” Farrell and Loranda “Wenda” Farrell (Gabriel). She was a 1979 graduate of Harding High School in East St. Paul, and went on the receive an Associates Degree thereafter. Her work life was varied and interesting, from performing on racing pit crews, to Health Care administration and Human Resources management, to warehouse order fulfilment where she drove forklifts and loaded pallets. She was as strong as she was beautiful.
Married in 1989, Kellie had two wonderful and amazing children, Tyler Brown born in 1993, and Madelyn Brown born in 1996. Subsequently, Kellie met and was married to Matthew “Matt” Chandler on January 22, 2000, and the family settled in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She was a shining star, loved by so many. Her smile was infectious, as her favorite game was to smile at people and see if that cheer came back. It did so, often. The family traveled frequently and found fun wherever the winds would take them. She loved winter getaways to sunny climbs, and summer “kid trips”, usually driving, to adventurous, fun and quirky destinations.
Kellie and Matt moved to South Carolina in 2016, their home an oasis in early retirement. Shockingly, her son Tyler Brown unexpectedly passed in 2019, devastating the family, but certainly leaving a gargantuan hole in Kellie’s heart. Wonderfully, Madelyn chose to move to South Carolina in 2021, proving an enormous blessing to have her near.
Tragically, Kellie began experiencing health issues in 2019 as well. Undiagnosed until early 2023, she was fighting a blood disease that sapped her of so many life functions. Ever strong, she proposed the decision to cease drastic and harsh treatment. In the time before her passing she chose to live large, travelling to Italy, Ireland, Alaska, Iceland and her dream parade, the New Year’s Day Rose Parade in Pasadena, California.
Kellie is survived by her husband Matt, her dear daughter Madelyn, her older brother Scott Farrell, mother-in-law Eleanor Chandler, brother-in-law Matthew Esquibel (Tonja), sister-in-law Toni Starner (Wayne), and so many wonderful nieces and nephews to include the daughter of her brother Bruce Farrell (deceased), Angie Eberts. She will be forever sorely missed by her family and the friends that she honestly counted as her family. We love you and will miss you always.
