Maria Helena Ramona Du La (Nana) was born in Hatch, NM on September 23, 1935 and went to be with Jesus on December 1, 2024. Maria was 89 years old.
Maria was an only child. She later moved to Alamogordo, NM and met her husband Bruce Du La in which they had been married 67 years. They resided in Roy, NM.
Maria married Bruce Du La in 1957 in Alamogordo, NM. Her husband had already been serving in the United States Air Force for 4 years when he met her. He received orders to go to Germany and they were there for 6 years. There she gave birth to Matthew and Mark Du La. After ten years of service, they went back to Alamogordo, NM where she gave birth to Luke and John Du La.
In 1975, they moved to Solano, NM where her husband worked at the Solano Ice Plant.
In 2020, Maria was diagnosed with breast cancer and survived that. The beginning of September 2024, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Maria was a housewife, and a mother to her 4 sons. She cherished her husband and her children. She was a devoted Catholic.
She is survived by her husband Bruce Du La, a son, John Alcouffe, cousins, Becky Armijo-Mars, David Armijo, Trisha Armijo-Lozano, and Maria Cecilia Armijo.
She is preceded in death by her beloved sons, Matthew Du La, Mark Du La, and Luke Du La, her parents, Julieta Perea (Carrere)and Jose Perea.
Funeral arrangements are being planned in Alamogordo, NM at a later time.
