Linda Lou (Jacobs) Ellis, passed away at the age of 75, on December 4th, 2024.

 

Linda was born on November 20th, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Louis Henry Jacobs Jr. and Betty Jean (Vaught) Jacobs. She paved her path with grace and intellect, embodying the values of steadfastness and kindness learned during her upbringing.

 

A proud alumna of Kentucky State University, Linda earned her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. She dedicate her professional life to public service include the Legislative Research Commission (LRC), from where she eventually retired. Her analytical talents as a mathematician were well-regarded and carried through her career, leaving a legacy of meticulousness and insight.

 

In her personal life, Linda embraced the beauty of the outdoors, reveling in activities such as camping and hiking, during her younger years. Her love for nature was a testament to her zest for life and adventure.

 

Linda’s life was rich with family. She shared a loving marriage with her devoted husband, James F. Ellis. Together they nurtured a family that included her daughter, Staphanie McBrayer May (David), step-sons James D. Ellis (Kimberly M) and Michael T. Ellis (Cindy), and four grandchildren: Sam May, Kennedy, Justin, and Emma Ellis. Her extended family and beloved friends feel a deep loss at her passing but are united in celebrating a life well-lived.

 

 

The memory of Linda will be honored at a service held on Monday, December 9th, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Sunset Memorial Gardens, with inurnment following immediately after. 

 

In accordance with Linda's wishes, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or Bluegrass Hospice Care in lieu of flowers.
