Walter J. DeGonzaque, Jr.
July 14th, 1967 - December 1st, 2024
Walter J. DeGonzaque Jr., 57, of Syracuse, was born on July 14, 1967, to Donna H. (McComber) Brown and Walter “Snuffy” J. DeGonzaque. He was a skilled and gifted contractor that could fix, install, or build anything. He should have been a stand-up comic!
Walter was predeceased by his father Walter “Snuffy” J. DeGonzaque.
He is survived by his loving mother Donna Brown; sisters Barbara Meaney (Tim), Connie Pallotta (James Barnum), Jacqueline Powless (Shannan); brothers Wesley DeGonzaque (Maxine), Matthew DeGonzaque and Christopher Hall; daughters Shania, Julia and Lila; nephews Adam, Jerry, Gregory, Zachary, and Michael; nieces Brooke, Binya, Alanna, Courtney, Alexis; Aunts Dolores (Ivan), Diane (Hugs in Heaven Uncle Bounce). Walter had many cousins, great nieces, nephews, and close friends (especially Adam Phillips).
Walter’s beautiful children and grandchildren gave him so much joy. He was so proud of his daughters Shania, Julia, and Lila and his grandsons Jesse, Jesiah, and Jeremias.
Walter loved and appreciated his family. He shared an unconditional bond of love with his mother. Walter was her most precious treasure. There has never been, nor will there ever be, anything quite as special as the love between a mother and son.
Walter found beauty in everything around him. He loved nature, especially fishing, camping, and golfing. He really enjoyed going to concerts with his sisters Barbara, Connie, and Jackie.
He was always the comedian with great one-liners making everyone laugh.
Even at the end he found a way to smile and laugh. Walter will be remembered for his unconditional love, hilarious sense of humor, the twinkle in his eye, and his love for life.
“When I’ve had enough, I want to go to sleep. It’s not going to be hard on me. It’s going to be hard on you all and I love everyone.” -- Walter
“When are the fireworks, ice cold Keystone Light, and Cinderella concert?” -- Walter
