Legacy

He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother. uncle, and friend.  He loved to be around his family, especially spending time with his kids and grandkids and would do anything for each and every one of them.  One of his joys was going to work with his son. Jim was a funny guy, he always liked teasing people and telling jokes.  He enjoyed working on his pool, fixing and building things, painting ceramics, watching wrestling, and going to Charlie Brown's to have a good steak.  Jim loved animals; he always had a pet.

Family

He is the beloved husband of 60 wonderful years to Patricia Abbott (nee Carr).   Devoted father of Beth Ann, Michael, Patty Ann and James (Arlene).  Treasured grandfather of Nicole (Gordon), David (Katie), Michael (David), Devin, Craig, Talia, Gianna, and Dante.  Son of the late Joseph and Ann Abbott.  Adored great grandfather of Melody, Miley, and Thomas. Dear brother of the late Michael (Barbara), late Nancy (late Raymond), Joseph (late Ann), and Rosemary (late William). He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

McGuinness Funeral Homes - Woodbury

We have served the Woodbury community since 1951, when our founder, James A. McGuinness, opened our first funeral home. He knew the importance of families having a trustworthy, local funeral home to help them memorialize their lost loved ones and navigate grief. Our beautiful funeral home in Woodbury was originally built in the late 1700s, and has since been rebuilt to honor its original charm and comfortable, warm feel. Once you walk through our doors, you become family....
