Greenville Burton Queen Jr (Burt) passed away on March 31st 2020 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 75. Burt was born on December 10th, 1944 in Washington D. C. to his parents Greenville Burton Queen Sr. and Helen Kleven Queen. He graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1967 where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. After graduating, he joined the Marine Corp, attending officer candidate school at Quantico. On July 13th 1968, he married Elizabeth (Betsy) Cherry. He served in Vietnam from 1969-1970. After leaving the Marine Corps, he worked for Chemical Bank in New York City until 1974. The now family of four moved to Charlottesville where Burt earned his MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia. Upon graduation, Burt accepted a position at the Bank of America at their Chicago office where he became a senior vice president during his distinguished 25+ year career. Burt was a friendly, generous man who will be remembered for his kindness and welcoming smile. He was an outdoor enthusiast whose interests ranged from golf to nature photography. He loved nothing more than introducing his family to his outdoor passions such as camping, hiking, canoeing, cross-country skiing and snow-shoeing. When stuck at home, he enjoyed sharing his passion for craft beer and was known for his mean mint julep. Burt†™s greatest joy was his family. He raised a daughter, Laura Elizabeth and a son Greenville Burton III, and was married to the love of his life, Betsy for 52 years. He was known as Pops by his adoring grandchildren, Spencer, Carter, Colten and Josie. Burt is survived by his loving wife, Betsy; daughter and son-in-law Ryan and Laura Nataluk, son and daughter-in-law G. B. and Stephanie Queen and his four beautiful grandchildren, twins Carter and Spencer Queen (10), Colten (6) and Josie (4) Nataluk. Crematory services are being provided by Aspen Mortuary in Arvada, CO. A celebration of Burt†™s life will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network www.pancan.org.
