Randall Lee DeYoung
December 5th, 1952 - December 4th, 2024
Randall Lee DeYoung, 71 , residence Falcon, Colorado, passed away on December 4th, 2024 from a rare bone cancer. Randall (Randy) was born on December 5th, 1952 to Roger and Dorothy DeYoung in LeMars, Iowa. There he graduated from LeMars Community High School. He worked with his father doing construction and excavating work, in which together they built homes and Randy ran heavy equipment.
Randy met Cindy in 1971 in Le Mars, and they married in Sioux City, IA in 1973. They had 3 children together, Stacy, Brandon, and Tricia.
After the passing of his father in 1976, Randy started his own business building cable TV networks. Working in over 10 states, he was a known hard worker and savvy businessman who loved real-estate. He continued this work till 2022 when he retired to pursue other interests.
Randy’s hobbies were many. He loved to cook, garden, fish, hunt, and bee-keep. He relished in life on his ranch; taking care of his cows, enjoying the outdoors, and remodeling the ranch house. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be dearly missed.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Roger Sr.; mother, Dorothy; brother, Roger Jr.; and sister Vicky.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy of Falcon, CO; his children, Stacy (Ben) of Colorado Springs, CO, Brandon (Jennifer) of Littleton, CO, and Tricia (Jordan) of New Burn, NC; his seven grandchildren, Skyler, Cadence, Keaton, Joe, Ryan, Aiden, and Ashlyn; and sisters Candy Wagner and Debbie Pottebaum of Le Mars, IA. He has many nieces and nephews.
An open house will be held on Saturday, December 14th, from 1-4 PM at their residence to celebrate Randy’s life. Join us for barbecue, remembering good times and sharing memories.
