It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sergio Daniel Gudiño, on Monday, December 9,2024, at the age of 44. He passed away at home in Mesa, Arizona after a short battle with cancer.

Sergio was born on September 17, 1980 to Jesus “Chuy” and Rachel (Chavez) Gudiño. He grew up in Superior, Arizona and is part of a big family in the area. He attended Superior High School and participated in school sports: Basketball, Baseball, and Tennis. Go Panthers! He kept himself busy to stay out of trouble by break dancing, listening to hip hop on his stereo, and being a DJ. He is remembered as the kindest person you ever met, the kind of kid who would put others before himself and not brag, nor bother to take recognition, and always did so with a smile during his school days. He graduated in 1999.

He moved to Mesa, Arizona after high school, attended some college at Mesa Community College with emphasis in Business, and had multiple jobs through the years. His las job was as a Security Guard at Talking Stick Resort for the past two years. He met his wife, Nicole Benally, in 2005 through friends in Mesa, Arizona and created a family with her. They have two children. His current likes were going to low rider shows, rebuilding a low rider 1985 Buick Regal (his first car), attending car shows, cruising with friends, collecting and selling Jordan shoes and apparel, a Chicago Bulls/Michael Jordan fan, a Raiders football fan, enjoyed going to casinos, grilling/BBQ-ing for family and friends, and was a “Dance Dad” for his daughter. His personality did not change much from his younger years, as he maintained his childhood friendships by giving advice, wanted the best for them, and would be there when needed at any time of day. Talking with his friends always brought out smiles, laughter and the best stories. He loved his family and friends.

Sergio was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Otilio D and Josefina Gudiño, maternal grandmother, Rachel Chavez, his parents, Jesus “Chuy” and Rachel Gudiño. He is survived by his wife, Nicole Benally, his sister, Victoria Gudiño, his son, Dorien Gudiño, and his daughter, Ava Gudiño.

Sergio’s presence will be cherished by all who knew him and remembered for his kindness, humor, devotion to family and friends. He was loved deeply and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, December 20, 2024 held at Legacy Funeral Home, Rose Chapel, 1130 S. Horne, Mesa, Arizona 85204 preceded by a viewing at 10:00 am. Reception following funeral services.
