Frank V. Mack, Jr.
June 5th, 1948 - December 11th, 2024
In Loving Memory
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Frank V. Mack, Jr., who left us on December 11, 2024, at the age of 76. Frank passed away in West Columbia, South Carolina, but his journey began in Portsmouth, Virginia, where he was born on June 5, 1948, to Frank V. Mack Sr. and the late Doris Taylor Mack.
Frank dedicated 47 years of his professional life to Harsco Rail, where he was respected by colleagues and forged many lasting friendships while traveling across the US and internationally to provide his unique expertise as a troubleshooter. His commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family, whom he cherished deeply.
An enthusiast with a zest for life, Frank had a passion for Harley-Davidson, often enjoying time on the open road with the wind in his face accompanied by his wife and riding buddies. His love for cooking, golf, and music filled many days with joy, and he had a particular fondness for watching classic John Wayne movies. Frank found peace observing the natural world, often delighting in watching birds from his front porch.
Frank's life was enriched by the love of his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Mack; daughter, Melissa (Jim) Barr of Lexington; son, Jason (Christine) Mack of Easley; father, Frank V. (Frances) Mack, Sr. of Gaston; and brother, Jackson (Sharon) Mack of Gilbert; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He leaves behind a treasured legacy in his grandchildren, Shelby, Carter, Taylor, Emma-Kate, Jacob, Colton, Laurin, and Zackeri; and great-grandson, Ezra. Frank was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Taylor Mack; stepmother, Betty Mack; sisters, Brenda Mack Neese and Marianne Mack Rogers; and stepdaughter, D-Ann Belton.
In honoring Frank's life, services will be held at a later date. The family invites friends and loved ones to share their condolences and fond memories when they gather to celebrate the life of a man whose kindness and warmth touched many.
Frank's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, serving as a testament to a life well-lived and a family well-loved.
