Lenora Pearl Moore
April 2nd, 1943 - December 6th, 2024
Lenora Pearl (Stucker) (Weir) Moore was born April 2, 1943 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Leonard and Pearl (Marrs) Stucker. She was the oldest of eight children.
During Lenora’s early childhood, she and her mother lived with her grandparents while her father served as a medic in the US Army during WWII, in both Germany and Japan. With only a few furloughs, he returned home around her 3rd birthday. When Lenora was around 8 years old, the family moved to Wisconsin where they operated a 200-acre dairy farm. Lenora helped with much of the housework, and she was known to be a second mother to her 4 youngest brothers.
In Wisconsin, she attended Pine Grove School, a one-room school for 1st-8th Graders. She graduated from New Auburn High School in 1961.
She married Daryol Dean Weir in August of 1961 and they moved to Colorado. Their first-born son, Jerry Dean, was born in 1968. Their second son, Leonard Dean was born in 1970. Jerry passed away in 1973, at nearly 5 years of age, from Leukemia. The couple eventually divorced in 1991.
Shortly after moving to Colorado, she began working for the City of Lakewood in the City Attorney’s office, then as a night shift dispatcher for the City Police, and finally in the City Clerk’s office, working a total of 52 years for the City of Lakewood, Colorado. She retired in July of 2021.
Lenora married William Frederick “Bill” Moore in 1999. Bill passed away in 2018.
In April of 2023, Lenora moved to Meridian, Idaho, where she could be near her siblings, and they could help with her care. She spent the last 8 months of her life, thankful and content to be at Edgewood Spring Creek Memory Care in Boise, Idaho.
Lenora lived and loved as a fiercely devoted mother. She loved traveling with many of her friends and family members. She traveled to each of the 50 states, and several countries, as well. She attended many class reunions in Wisconsin, made frequent trips to see her family in Idaho, and enjoyed using her timeshare. She enjoyed going to the theater and plays, and was a Denver Bronco fan. She loved going on rides to the mountains, and before her children were born, she enjoyed hunting in the Colorado Rockies.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry; her parents; former husband and father of their children, Daryol; and husband, Bill. Survivors include her son, Leonard, of Aurora, CO; her 7 siblings and their spouses, Virgil (Diane) Stucker, Bob (Thien) Stucker, Susie (Doyle) Palmer, all of Meridian, ID, Wesley (Holly) Stucker of Jefferson, OR, David (Vanessa) Stucker of Kuna, ID, Dean (Danelle) Stucker, and Dale (Roberta) Stucker, all of Meridian, ID; and numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family members.
Four days after falling and fracturing a hip, Lenora passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024 at the age of 81 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 16th, at 2:00 PM. The service will be held at Summers Funeral Home, 3629 E Ustick Road, Meridian, ID 83846.
