November 16th, 1931 - December 10th, 2024
Philip J Clarke Jr, 93, Satellite Beach, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on December 10, 2024. Born November 16, 1931, in Long Island City, NY to Philip J Clarke Sr and Eva Boudreau Clarke he was raised in Astoria, Queens. He attended Villanova University and graduated in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. It was while attending Villanova he met the love of his life Patricia “Pat” whom he married in 1956 and remained with until her death in 2016. Phil proudly served as a Marine Corps Officer from 1955-1961.
Phil was a long-time resident of Hyde Park, New York before relocating to Florida in 1980 where he became the owner of the Laun-Dri Room in Indialantic Florida (1980-1994). Phil and Pat were known by many of their customers as friends, some of which are still friends today. Phil has lived at his home on Lake Shepard, Satellite Beach for over 40 years and is one of the last of the old timers that made this neighborhood a wonderful place to live.
Phil leaves behind his children Eugene Clarke (Traci), Tim Clarke (Nur); Patty Barnett (Gordon), six grandchildren and brother Peter of Syracuse, NY. He was pre-deceased by his wife Patricia D Clarke and son Philip (P.J.) Clarke IV.
It cannot go without mentioning the loyalty and devotion of his neighbor and friend Tim Perry who has been by like a son since becoming close friends in 2014. His support during this challenging time has been remarkable and a true testament to his love for Dad.
With his passing we have received so many words of condolences and prayers for him but also, how he impacted their lives. His humor and entertaining stories will be what we all remember most. Celebration of life will be private at a future date. Please call 321-773-5078 if you would like to attend. He will be laid to rest in Paradox Lake, New York.
