Mary Martha Beverly Ellington, 91, of Greensboro, NC, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 12, 2024.
Born in Guilford County, NC, on September 8, 1933, Mary was the daughter of Cordie “Bud” Beverly, Sr. and Gladys Stephens Beverly, both deceased.
Survivors include her three children, Brenda Haire and husband, Ron, David Lee Ellington, and Diane Toney and husband, David; seven grandchildren, Sandra Green and husband, Gary, Dawn Neff and husband, John, Trish McKlurkin and husband Jason, Stephanie Scott and husband, Jonathan, Brandon Toney, Aaron Ellington and wife, Anna, and Brittany Freeman; twenty-two great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Jannie Cassell, and Darlene Smith and husband, Raymond.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by nine siblings.
A funeral service celebrating Mary’s life will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Lambeth Chapel, Greensboro, NC with Pastor Jerry Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM Wednesday prior to the service in the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to AuthoraCare Hospice Home of Burlington, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
