Samuel "Sammy" E. Anaya
September 18th, 1952 - December 8th, 2024
Samuel E. Anaya (Sammy) 72 of Cerrillos, NM passed away on 12/8/24 surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his Son Richard, Daughter Samantha (Joseph) Thompson soon to arrive grandson. Siblings: Art, Apolonia, Toni, Jim Sr. Special Nephew & Niece Jim Jr, Tina Anaya. Preceded in death by his parents Arturo & Josie Anaya, Niece Veronica Broglie, Nephews David Oney, William & Joey Lewis. Survived by 11 Nephews & Nieces, 10 Great Nephews & Nieces.
He was a founding member of the Turquoise Trail Volunteer Fire Dept served 37 years. He loved playing music with his dad and in his own bands. He also enjoyed hunting, horseback riding, taking long drives around NM and spending time with family. He was always there for anyone in need.
The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to St. Vincent's Hospital Unit 3200 and St. Vincent Cancer Center for their compassionate care provided.
The TTVFD will conduct an honorary Fireman’s Farewell on December 21, 2024 at 10:30 am at the St. Joseph’s Church in Cerrillos, NM. A Funeral mass will follow at 11:00 am. A Celebration of life will commence immediately after services in the St. Joseph Parish Hall.
