Ricky Lee Barker, 69, of Kingsport passed away peacefully at his home following a brief illness. He was born in Kingsport to the late Hugh and Stella Barker. Ricky was a graduate of Ketron High School and went on to attend the University of Tennessee where he played in the band. In his early years Ricky managed several restaurants and later worked for the Bloomingdale Utility District until his retirement in 2020.
Survivors include his daughter, April Dias and husband James; grandchildren, Makara Barker, Alyssa Barker, and Kylie Barker; great-granddaughter, Rooklynne Dye; sisters, Margaret Wright and husband Ken and Penny Smith and husband David; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6pm to 7pm on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport.
A funeral service will follow with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.
