Beers and Story - South Hadley
Kenneth "Ken" J. Delphia
April 8th, 1959 - December 14th, 2024
Kenneth “Ken” J. Delphia, known by most as "Bones," passed away unexpectedly on December 14, 2024, at the age of 65 at his home. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.Born on April 8, 1959 in Ludlow, Kenneth grew up in Chicopee, later establishing his home in South Hadley where he lived for over three decades. He carried with him a profound sense of community and was well-regarded as the neighbor that was ever-ready to lend a helping hand.Kenneth's career spanned several noteworthy companies, originating at the James River Company, transitioning through Rexam Graphics, Intelicoat Technologies and ultimately concluding with his retirement from E INK, where his diligence and integrity left a lasting impact. He took pride in being a hard worker and passed that importance down to his children.Kenneth was a man of varied interests; his love for nature was evident in his fondness for gardening, where he cultivated some of the most stunning hydrangeas. He found joy in outdoor pursuits, including hiking with his dog, Uno, at Dufresne Park, and indulged in the serenity of fishing with his children, both on and off land, an interest he was looking forward to sharing with his grandson. His passion for motorcycles made him a cherished member of the British Iron Association of Massachusetts. He had a love for good music which he passed on to his children. He enjoyed good food, to which his famous chili will always be a topic of conversation. Known for his candor, Kenneth was never shy of sharing his opinions and his honesty was matched by his dedication to family, often seen with his children by his side, sharing in his hobbies and adventures. A jack of all trades, he took pride in spreading his knowledge. He loved to reminisce on “the good old days”, always having an entertaining story to tell. Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife, Holly A. (Willis) Delphia, his children, William "Billy" Delphia and Danielle Delphia (Trevor), and his grandson, Fian Bones. He also leaves his cherished uncle, John Batur, and niece, Amy Delphia, to carry on his legacy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marlene M. (Batur) Delphia, his brother, Mark Delphia, nephew, Jeremy Delphia, and grandfather, Ziggy.A gathering to honor Kenneth’s life and legacy will take place on Monday, December 23, from 3pm-5pm. His family invites all who knew him to celebrate the generous and spirited life he led. In lieu of flowers, please consider a charity of choice to honor one of Ken's hobbies.
