Lottie Mae Wilson Flemming, 81, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, Winston-Salem, NC. She was born on January 18, 1943, in Albemarle, NC, to the late David Wilson and Ruby Fleming Wilson. Lottie graduated from Paisley High School, Winston-Salem, NC in 1963.
In addition to her parents, Lottie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 31 years, Bishop Arthur Flemming; siblings, Elizabeth Hampton, Selma Crosby, David E. Wilson, and Beatrice Rankin; and grandson, Dominique Broadway. Survivors include her children, Anita Miller, Sylvester McConneaughey, Jr., Donald Flemming and wife, Latosha, Elizabeth Wilson, Arthur Flemming, III and wife, Pertasha, and Timothy Fleming and wife, Amanda; stepdaughter, Thelma McConneaughey; brother-in-law, Johnnie Flemming; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and a host of friends and extended relatives.
Lottie was a natural homemaker and carried an unforgettable presence that touched everyone she encountered. She was lovingly known as Mama or Granny Lottie.
Funeral services celebrating Lottie’s life will be held at 3:00PM Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Main Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Lanny Lancaster officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends immediately following the committal service on Saturday in the commons area of the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the nursing staff at Trellis Supportive Care for their loving kindness to our mother.
