Stephen Richard Hensley (61) of Payette, ID passed away Saturday December 14, 2024 at his home. On January 1st, 1963, just after midnight, Steve was awarded a silver spoon and cup as the first baby born the new year at Oak Ridge hospital in Oak Ridge, TN to his parents Oscar Hensley and Faye Hicks. Over the next 32 years Steve was zealously involved in gospel ministry: pastoring three churches in East Tennessee, teaching in bible colleges, preaching revivals, encouraging pastors, and equipping believers for ministry. For the past six years, with the support of his loving wife, Steve was ambitiously involved in church planting efforts in the northwestern United States, and until his final day, served faithfully as pastor Lighthouse Baptist Church in Payette, Idaho. Steve was preceded in death by: his father Oscar Hensley, mother-in-law Phyllis Jackson, brother David Hensley, sister-in-law Renee Truitt, and three precious grand children who passed before birth.
