Delph Powell Arnold (Pop) of West Columbia passed away at home on Sunday, December 15, 2024. He is the husband of the late Shirley King Arnold. He was born May 6, 1936 in Iva, SC. He is the son of the late Delph Powell Arnold, Sr and the late Sallie Bruce Arnold.

D. P. is a Navy veteran and retired from The State newspaper. He enjoyed making pies to share with his family and friends. He enjoyed reading and watching Gamecock football.

He is survived by eight of his children, Sherie Conner (Dennis) of Fort Mill, David Arnold (Jennifer) of Lexington, Liz Metz of Columbia, Lydia Frierson (Allen) of Chapin, Sam Arnold (Dorothy) of Leesville, Taber Arnold (Ashley) of Lexington, Malcolm Arnold (Amy) of West Columbia, and Sallie Syracuse (Myer) of Chapin, 21 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley King Arnold, daughter, Linda Dee Arnold Hook, son-in-law, William Hook and granddaughters, Carly Anderson and Amy Hook.

A graveside service will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery on Monday, December 23rd at 12 noon.
