Joyce Ann Ryans, age 83 of Church Hill, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Joyce was born on July 11, 1941, in Blackwater, VA to Floyd “Jack” and Maggie Leona Clendenin Wallen. On June 30, 1961, Joyce married her best friend and love of her life, Sinetker Ryans, and after 63 years of a beautiful life together, he survives.

Joyce enjoyed cooking and quilting. One of her favorite things to do was gardening and enjoying the outdoors. The love she gave her family will last throughout eternity.  Joyce was a devout, long time member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Vema Edwina Wallen, and Berneda Wallen. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband; son, Shannon Ryans; sister, Mae Willis and husband, Wayne; nephew, Michael Willis and wife, Jennie; special aunt, Wanda Osborne; three sisters-in-law, Mary Ryans, Helen Case and husband, Jerry, and Nancy McCullough and husband, Gale; and several loving nieces, nephews, and other family members.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home Church Hill. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. A graveside service will follow at Church Hill Memory Gardens at 3:00 pm. Joyce’s family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
