Maria De La Luz Zuniga Olvera
August 21st, 1937 - December 16th, 2024
Maria De La Luz Zuniga Olvera, 87, of Caldwell, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2024.
Maria was born in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico on August 21, 1937, to Luz Zuniga and Amalia Pequeño.
Maria married her soulmate, Jose Carmen Olvera Sr., on November 14, 1957. Maria and Jose were married 40 years before his passing in 1997.
Maria was a loving mom, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved reading her Bible, singing in the shower, attending church, but most of all, praising her Lord and Savior.
Maria is preceded in death by her father, Luz; mother, Amalia; sister, Adela; husband, Jose; son, Ricardo; and grandson, Lil Rick.
She is survived by her children: Reynaldo (Norma) Olvera, Jose C. (Diana) Olvera Jr., Rosa (Israel) Barroso, Rojelio (Martha) Olvera, Raul (Stephanie) Olvera; 12 grandkids; 8 great grandkids; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 12:00 pm at the Nampa Apostolic Church, Templo Familiar Cristiano: El Milagro, 119 1st Avenue N. in Nampa, Idaho. Interment to follow at Marsing Homedale Cemetery in Marsing, Idaho.
