James R. Conway (Jim) passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on March 30, 1945, to Joseph and Carolyn Conway, Jim had a fulfilling life rooted in family, hard work, and his passions.

A native Floridian, Jim had a deep love for his Tampa Bay Buccaneers and life on the lake. There, he shared his passion for football and the outdoors with his children, teaching them how to drive a boat, waterski, and enjoy the time with family.

Jim was a man of many talents and interests—a commercial photographer with a keen eye, a DIY builder who could bring ideas to life, a disciplined blackbelt in karate, and a sharp-minded investor who approached life with practicality and humor. His weekends were often spent outdoors, fishing, boating, or creating a fun and entertaining backyard for his family to enjoy. He also enjoyed encouraging his son’s Boy Scout adventures, making the most out of the weekend and always in the back of his mind, he was rooting for his kids

Jim’s life was defined by the beautiful children he brought into this world and the love he had for them. It was his pleasure to watch his kids grow into the people they are today and seeing how happy they are, meant the world to him.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Carolyn, and his brother Joey, but his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. He is survived by his sister Ann, his brother Tommy, his three children—Shannon, Travis, and Sandy—and his seven grandchildren: Nicholas, Caroline, Brandon, Ariana, Jake, Taylor, and Charlie.

Jim’s family will forever remember him for his determined spirit, lively conversations, and sharp sense of humor. May he rest peacefully among the angels, and may he find joy and fulfillment in the afterlife beyond anything he could have imagined.

A private service was held at Rose Hill Cemetery, where three generations of Jim’s family are laid to rest.
