Peggy J. Smith Buchanan, age 83 of New Plymouth, Idaho. Peggy passed away December 7, 2024 at home.

Peggy was born October 6, 1941 and lived in Idaho her whole life.  Peggy married her lifelong    love of nearly 49 years Denny Buchanan on July 29, 1958. They had two children, Greg & Ginger, 4 grandchildren Calli Coleman (Ted Allen), Jared Thompson (Dylan Sponseller), Nicole Buchanan and Parker Buchanan. 6 great grandchildren Denni Jo, Cade & Cash Coleman and Jace, Jordynn and Willow Buchanan.

She has a brother Ron Smith, nieces, nephews and numerous friends that were extended family.

Denny and Peggy lived in Eagle most of their married life, moving to New Plymouth just prior to Denny's passing. Peggy was a Beautician for nearly 20 years until her health made her retire early giving her time to be a full time homemaker and grandma. Peggy’s passion in life were her grandkids. They brought so much joy to her life and she was their biggest fan. Peggy loved baking and always had desserts available and coffee on for when friends would stop by to visit. She enjoyed quilting, shopping and traveling.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband Denny Buchanan, son Greg Buchanan, father Howard Smith, stepmother Jackie Smith, mother Eleanor Bisel, stepfather Edward Bisel, brother Anthony Smith.

At Peggy’s request, there will be no viewing or funeral service. She will be cremated and placed at Dry Creek cemetery with Denny and Greg. The family will have a Celebration of life in the Spring with a date TBD.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you donate to either Spurs and Spike’s or ICA cowboy crisis fund in Peggy’s honor.
