Joyce Anne Wilkinson, 82, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, December 16, 2024, at The Palmettos of Bluffton in Okatie, South Carolina. Joyce, often called “Joycee” by those close to her, was born on April 27, 1942, to Ellouise (Colbert) Delaney and Bernard Delaney in North Conway, NH, where she grew up. She attended Kennett High School, graduating in 1960. Joyce went on to attend Burdett Business College in Boston, MA for 2 years, graduating in1962 with a degree in Medical Secretarial Services. She had not planned to leave New England, but an opportunity became available to work as a civilian for the Navy in Washington, DC so she went there in 1962. Joyce was not there long before meeting the love of her life, Jack M. Wilkinson, who was working in the same building as an enlisted member of the Air Force. Jack and Joyce married in 1963 and began a journey of travel with the Air Force, living in Spain, Maine, Florida, Maryland, and Wyoming until Jack retired in 1977. Joyce always said she wanted to go back home to NH when Jack retired, and they did just that in 1978. Joyce was an animal lover and jumped at the opportunity to work at a Veterinary hospital, later becoming a front office manager. Her true passion was dogs, specifically Shetland Sheepdogs (Shelties), and she spent time learning more about the breed before becoming a devoted dog breeder and handler. She even had a Sheltie take Best of Breed at Westminster once. Joyce was also quite the green thumb, creating beautiful flower beds and eventually “Mom’s Garden” in New Boston, NH before moving to FL with Jack to enjoy the warmer weather and play a lot of golf.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Jack M. Wilkinson II and wife Linda, Michael Wilkinson and wife Dolores; her daughter, Lisa Wilkinson and wife Kristy; her grandchildren, Patrick McInnis and wife Amanda, Jessica (Wilkinson) Russell and husband Jared, Joshua Wilkinson, Michael Wilkinson and fiancé Jordyn Walker; her great grandchildren, Ana McInnis, Aurora McInnis and James Russell; her brother Ronald Delaney; her best friend since childhood Betty (Doig) Smither and husband Michael. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellouise and Bernard Delaney, her sister Judy (Delaney) Fallen, and her wonderful husband Jack Wilkinson.

Per Joyce’s wishes, she and Jack will be interred together at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Boscawen, NH in the Spring of 2025 (date to be determined).
