Gerald "Jerry" Christian Tobiasen
1939 - November 27th, 2024
Gerald Tobiasen, 85, of Rancho Santa Margarita, passed away peacefully on November 27th. Born on August 9, 1939, in Selma, California, Jerry was the son of Chris and Dorothy Tobiasen. His early years were shaped by the hard work and love of a tight-knit family on their ranch, where Jerry learned the value of perseverance, responsibility, and humility. A descendant of Danish and Norwegian heritage, Selma and his roots never left his heart. Jerry moved to Southern California as a young adult and started his family and career.Jerry’s faith was an essential part of who he was. He was baptized at Pella Lutheran Church in Selma and, as a young adult, rededicated his life to Christ in 1992. His devotion to his Christian faith influenced every aspect of his life, from his relationships with family and friends to his work and personal pursuits. His quiet strength and integrity were hallmarks of his character, and he was known for his calm demeanor, willingness to listen, and the support he gave to others. Jerry’s faith was central to his identity, and he lived a life of kindness, and compassion.After high school, Jerry enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he played a role in the space program. His military service was one of great pride, as he served his country honorably, contributing to advancements that would shape the future of space exploration. After his service, Jerry transitioned into a successful career in the computer industry, becoming a trusted business consultant. Throughout his professional life, Jerry demonstrated an exceptional work ethic and a deep commitment to helping others. His knowledge, expertise, and professionalism made him a respected figure in his field.Jerry was also an avid golfer and hunter, spending countless hours outdoors enjoying the beauty of nature, where he felt most connected to Jesus Christ. He shared these passions with his family, instilling in them an appreciation for God’s creation, and the importance of family and tradition.Jerry’s love for his family was evident in everything he did. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, Great-grandfather and husband. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life, and he took great pride in watching them grow and thrive. Jerry was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Cindy, and together they built a life filled with love and shared experiences. His legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate to know him.In addition to his wife, Cindy, Jerry is survived by his children, Dorene Mirchandani, her husband Brent and their 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Jeff Mollohan and his wife Nicole and his Logan. Heather Mollohan, her husband Matt May and their daughter. Danielle Keith and her husband Mark and their 2 children. Brittany Tobiasen and her 2 children. Jared Tobiasen, his wife Kimberly and their 5 children. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends who will deeply miss his gentle presence and unwavering support.
