Petra Blatzheim Beddingfield
May 22nd, 1961 - December 20th, 2024
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Petra Blatzheim Beddingfield on December 20, 2024, at her home in Centerville, Georgia. Born on May 22, 1961, in the vibrant city of Cologne, Germany, Petra was a woman of strength, ambition, and kindness, whose adventurous spirit left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Petra's life was a testament to the power of ambition and the warmth of kindness. Leaving her native Germany, she moved to Georgia, where she beautifully blended European sensibilities with Southern charm. Known for her adventurous nature, Petra lived life to the fullest and was not one to shy away from exploring new horizons.
Petra was a devoted mother to her four children: Viola, Victoria, Gregory, and Sebastian Beddingfield. Her love and guidance shaped their lives profoundly, and her memory will continue to inspire them. She was also a cherished sister to Monika Kollmann, Angelika Ottersbach, and the late Gisela Blatzheim, providing unwavering support and love throughout their lives. Her extended family of nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart.
A true Renaissance woman, Petra's interests spanned from the delicate art of crocheting to the joyful nostalgia of retro gaming. She found peace sitting in her garden, sunbathing, and savoring the simple beauty of nature. Her generous spirit was evident to all, and her kindness left a lasting impression.
Petra's life will be celebrated privately by her family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, reflecting Petra's enduring commitment to the well-being of others.
May Petra Blatzheim Beddingfield rest in eternal peace, her adventurous spirit finding new paths in the great beyond, her kindness forever remembered by those who were fortunate to know her.
"Dear Petra, now you have started your last journey. Mom, Dad, and Gisela will be waiting for you and the four of you are reunited. I wish you four unspeakably much strength during such a difficult time."-Aunt Monika, Annelie, and Finn.
